You will be incurably hooked after seeing trials.  Observed Trials is all about balance, skill and regularity, not speed.  Trials is a cross-country event in rocky, hilly terrain consisting of minor roads, country lanes, and narrow  tracks. Trials riders take on challenging terrain, have to stay within the bounds of a narrowly outlined path, keep their bike moving forward and not put their foot down. Then think of vintage trials.  All of the obstacles and boundaries just described, but on bikes with minimal suspension.  There are usually 8 - 10 sections, each ridden 3 times.  A perfect score is 0 with a maximum of 5 points (deductions) possible on each section.

The Sandia Classic Vintage national points event -- round 20 of the 25 round series --  will be held on Saturday. Additionally, we will offer several modern trails classes.

  • Trials Classes

Trials provides multiple classes based upon motorcycle specification.  Additionally, riders are then divided by ability into 5 groups.  As well as the vintage classes, we will run several modern trials classes - using vintage rules of course! Modern bikes will be broken into modern mono shock and modern twin shock. Observed Trials is the only AHRMA  event that does not have an age minimum to ride.
  • Registration

All riders must be an AMA racing member. To ride in the AHRMA vintage classes, you must be an AHRMA member. Pre-registration closes two weeks prior to the event. Post entry is available on event day. For modern classes, just wrirte in "modern mono shock" or "modern twin shock".
  • Riders School

Stay tuned for information on a trials school.
  • Requirements and Regulation

This is an AHRMA sanctioned event and will follow the rules and regulations as found in the AHRMA Handbook and specifically in the Trials section.
