The 6th annual Sandia Classic returns to New Mexico September 12 - 14, 2008. All the race action is back - roadracing, vintage and post vintage motocross, trials, cross country and more dirt track than ever. Keep an eye on "What's New" for the latest updates!

What's New for 2008?

• $10,000 Cash Purse Dirt Track! Saturday the Sandia Classic in conjunction with the New Mexico Dirt track Association (NMDA) hosts action packed dirt track racing at Hollywood Hills Speedway. Practice and heats in the afternoon with main events at 8 PM.
• Mick Andrews, 5 time winner of the Scottish 6-day trials, 2-Time World Trials Champion and European off road racing legend will be be joining us for the Sandia Classic, riding trials, cross country and motocross. Mick is the Sandia Classics 2008 Legends of Motocross.
• For 2008, the Trials event is moving to Saturday. We'll have all the AHRMA classes as well as modern classes.
• Sandia is part of the AHRMA "Best of the West" Motocross Series - a 4-race southwest vintage motocross series which includes races in Arizona, southern California (Perris, Glen Helen) and Sandia.

Why vintage racing?  Dick Mann, AHRMA Trustee, 2-Time AMA Grand National Champion and Motorsports Hall of Fame member has this to say, "If you ask 10 different people you may get 10 different answers. These are becoming quite accepted sports around the world and people are involved for different reasons. Some say it is cheap racing. Some say it is more laid back and less intense. Some say it is easier to be competitive. Others say it is a chance to use a $6,000 machine that was only for show a short time ago. They all say it is more fun."

All events are at Sandia Motorsports Park except for Dirt Track Racing at Hollywood Hills Speedway.
