The Sandia Classic hosts rounds 16 and 17 of the 19 round AHRMA Historic Cup Roadrace Series.  As well as all the great AHRMA vintage classes, AHRMA also runs modern classes -  the Sound of Singles® (SOS), Battle of the Twins® (BOT) and Sound of Thunder®.

  • Roadrace Classes

All the AHRMA roadrace classes will be run at the Sandia Classic.  Two complete points rounds of vintage roadracing will be run over the course of the weekend.  Additionally, a modern supermoto, and modern unlimited GP superbike will run as part of the daily roadracing schedule.
  • Registration

Race registration is through the AHRMA web site .  Racers are encouraged to pre-register but can register on race day.  Pre-registration closes 2 weeks before race day.  Racers must be an AMA racing member and a member of AHRMA.
  • Riders School and Practice Day

A new riders school will be held on Friday September 12 at Sandia Motor Speedway.    This is an opportunity for riders interested in racing to get their AHRMA roadracing license on Friday and upon completion of the school to race in the Sandia Classic.  Friday is also a practice day for registered  Sandia Classic AHRMA racers.   Contact Sandia Motorcycle Racing, Inc. (SMRI) if you have questions, or to signup.
  • Requirements and Regulation

This is an AHRMA sanctioned event and will follow the rules and regulations as found in the AHRMA Handbook and specifically in the general roadracing rules and roadracing class requirements.   There are no silencing rules at SMS.
